Somehow, Messiah found herself right into Rasheed’s arms. It was becoming a reoccurring thing she couldn’t control. She felt wanted in his arms. She still battled with the issues she had with her mother. As long as she could remember, she felt like the pet of the family. Her father did everything he could to make her feel like she was wanted. Her family respected her, especially because her murder game was just like theirs, cold. Here with Rasheed, she felt so wanted and loved. She tried to shake the feelings she felt about him and often downplayed them when he asked. She went days not calling him to distance herself away from him, but she always found herself right back in his embrace.

Jaylah joked with her that she was in love. Messiah knew it wasn’t love, but she felt like it was really close. She often imagined herself being his woman and that was rare for her to even think about. Rasheed just had that personality that was contagious. She saw how devoted he was to his family. As much as his sister did stupid shit, he never gave up on her. That was what made Messiah fall ‘in like’ with him. She didn’t want someone who would give up on her, like her mother. He often called her cold and she was desperately trying to change for him.

He nuzzled his face in her hair and watched as she squirmed. Rasheed caressed her shoulders and smelled her hair. He could lay like that forever and would never grow tired of it. He and Messiah had been doing the same song and dance and he wanted something more than being her pillow when the weight of the world got too heavy for her. He wanted to be her man and for her to be his woman. He was tired of playing the cat and mouse game.

“Siah,” he said, shaking her small frame.

“What’s up,” she replied.

“You.” He shot back.

Messiah sat up and faced his way with her legs tucked under her. “Me? What about me?

“What are we doing? I come to your house and you come to mine. We sleep in the same bed and either you leave early in the morning or you kicking me out, depending on who house it is. I want to be more than you pillow at night. You got a nigga spilling his feelings out and you not telling me shit. I wanna know if I’m wasting my time.”

“So, you want to be my pillow in the morning and afternoon too. Aight that’s not a problem.” Messiah chuckled.

“I swear you think you got jokes.” Rasheed laughed.

“I get what you’re saying. I guess we can see where this goes. Don’t think I’m about to call you Bae or some ghetto shit like that.” She set the rules.

“Can I call you babe?” Rasheed whispered in her ear as he pulled her close and kissed her soft lips for the first time.

Messiah returned the kiss and wrapped her legs around Rasheed’s midsection.
